Barnett Beef Pregnancy Sale - Embryo Mating Sires
Well, I said I was going to tell you more about the embryos. I'll tell you what, we've got something a little bit special here. Obviously, when you got to put embryos in, it's not a cheap exercise, so you got to get it right. Unless you get the mating right and get your criteria right it could be not as good as you'd like.
I want to tell you how we've selected our mating sires to our beautiful donors. That is that we have selected Sterling Pacific. Now what we're chasing here is, him being a grandson of the Y69 cow, which we admire enormously. It comes out of the Baldrige performance operation in the United States. It sold millions of dollars worth of animals out of her and he's by Hoover No Doubt. And Hoover, no doubt is a long-bodied, just beautiful phenotype. Great carcase values and the indexes that prove his performance are pretty outstanding.
Now as the second sire is a bull called Goalkeeper, again, out of the Baldrige Program, and goes back to Y69. Again, that's, the really productive cow I've just mentioned. Goalkeeper is sired by Enhance and Australians will know Enhance quite well because he's just got so much performance, it's incredible growth, incredible carcase values, big scrotal.
So those two sires have been selected for our Donors. When we do the predictive mating on those, we find that all the selection indexes are in the top 1%, which is quite remarkable. The 200, 400, 600, and carcase weight are all in the top 1%.
So that goes to tell you that what you can expect out of this is something really different is consistency, is high volume animals that will produce the sort of product that we get paid for. We get paid for weight. We get paid for good carcase values and that's what we find in these animals. So we're very excited about those.
We've got 40 embryos, roughly half to Sterling Pacific half to Goalkeeper out of, our selected animals as selected donors. And we would recommend those to you. Absolutely. With complete and utter confidence.
