Barnett Rollo R5 and The Semen Sires – Dare to Compare!
We are talking to you about Barnett Rollo R5 today, one of our young sire prospects, which we're quite excited about, also 2 Semen Sires we have bred, and we compare them with some others in the industry,
Barnett Rollo R5
You know when you see a calf that stands out from the rest, it warms the blood, doesn’t it?
This young rascal has always had a beautiful balance to him. He's had a great growth spurt, and he's always stayed ahead of the pack. He's a GAR Scale House son, and he's out of Barnett First Lady N11 who goes back to Strathewen Regent Mittagong J23. So packed full of some good stuff there.
If we had an entire herd of these, we just want another entire herd of them because they're just the right shape. They're long top. They're smooth fronted, they're broad behind, and they're deep bodied; a very, very functional animal.
When you stand behind Barnett Rollo R5, apart from seeing the biggest set of nuts you've ever seen, he's beautifully balanced. He's just a youngster and he looks like he's going to grow into to something very substantial.
He's strong boned and he's got a great set of growth stats; his new genomics puts his at 74 at 200 days and 125 at 400 days which emulates his real life performance. His carcase weight at 95, EMA at 11.7, RBY at Top 1% and IMF at 2.9 and his Selection Indexes are all in the top 5%.
He's an example of what will come out of the donor herd at BarnettAngus.
Barnett Command Q6 and Barnett Dusty Q7
Just to extend that a little bit further, we've got two special semen sires that are a year older. One is Barnett Command Q6 and one is Barnett Dusty Q7.
Barnett Command Q6, is out of Barnett Disco Girl N4, one of the donor cows that we have at the front of our catalogue, who herself has a ripping calf again this year. She keeps on delivering bulls, which is a bit of a pain as we want a whole bunch of her daughters.
This chap; Barnett Command Q6, is a Baldridge Command C036 son; he's got a sensational muscle pattern, thick as a brick. I mentioned Barnett Disco Girl N4 as being his dam, which in fact is a J23 daughter, while our other Semen Sire, Barnett Dusty Q7 is out of N4’s flush sister, Barnett Disco Girl N3.
Barnett Dusty Q7 is by Clunes Crossing Dusty M13, a GAR Prophet son. A really, really deep bodied boy; probably the higher volume of the two. Both of them have got tremendous 200, 400, 600-day growth with a plus 66, plus 118 and plus 145.
Both have below average birth weights and both of them have top 5% on the selection indexes.
So what we've done here is we really like these bulls, we've got semen available on them and we thought we would just compare them with the industry standard bearers.
So we've done what we call a ‘Dare to Compare’ the BarnettAngus Semen Sires with the bulls that have hit the headlines this year:
Millah Murrah Rocket Man,
Millah Murrah Rembrandt,
Texas Iceman,
Millah Murrah Paratrooper, and
Millah Murrah Rolls Royce
These were all selling for extraordinary figures, as you can recall. We would invite you to have a look at the comparative stats on these.
We've done another section on the Research Selection Indexes in the same manner.
We're excited to say that our boys are really powerful.
We enjoyed the genetics. We enjoy the data. And why wouldn't you when, particularly in the Research Selection Indexes, both of them, Barnett Command Q6 and Barnett Dusty Q7 are top 1% right across the board.
So hop on to the BarnettAngus website, download the Beef Pregnancy Sale Catalogue; have a look at the stats.
If you're interested in some semen, it's available.
There's not a lot of it. We would be thrilled to talk to you about anything within our program and particularly pleased to see you online on December 1st from 12pm, with the sale finishing on December 2nd at 12pm.
