The Sires that feature in the BarnettAngus Beef Pregnancy Sale
We've talked about the Donors, but today we're going to talk about the Sires.
Millah Murrah Paratrooper P15
The first one we're going to start off with is one that we all know about: Millah Murrah Paratrooper P15 broke records, quite some time ago, it seems, actually at $160,000. He’s a Compliment 8088 grandson.
We've got a Compliment donor cow that has the thickness shown by Paratrooper progeny. We really like Paratrooper and have heard great reports of his progeny from around the industry.
We love the maternal line going back to the Ela A204 cow.
The maternal line is something that we really focus on when we are looking for a a ball, we go straight to mum and have a look at what she's done.
Texas Iceman R725
Of course you can't go past Texas Iceman R725 and his mother, the Undine H647 cow. She has got a track record, which is hard to beat. Texas Iceman R725 is by the American sensation, POSS Maverick. POS Maverick sired a bull recently that was sold for almost a million bucks in the United States, which is not too shabby.
We love Texas Iceman R725’ phenotype. We love his natural strong top and balance. He's an easy fit for our growthy donors. Oh, and I did forget for goodness sake, $225,000 for Texas Iceman R725 as a, as a young bull is a pretty staggering achievement.
So those two sires are the primary sires for our embryo.
GAR Hometown, GAR Drive and GB Fireball
We've also, some hometown GAR Hometown, GAR Drive and GB Fireball progeny.
And those three bulls we've used as single mating’s in our herd. We particularly like Hometown for his IMF. He's a balanced phenotype and these stats are hard to beat. He's not a monster. He's probably just over a frame five.
So not as big as some, less than some, but he's got a beautiful front on him, a great Angus head and he's a very wide based strong top animal. And again, with a very, strong maternal line, which is not dissimilar to GAR Drive the maternal line, it is pretty terrific.
Drive is by Momentum. An IMF of 3.1 and a very light birth weight of plus 2.5 which is always an attribute.
He's a very soft skinned sire and he'll contribute very well.
GB Fireball is a bull that we think has got a lot of capacity, probably one of the thicker animals available, very wide based animal, big boned. He’s a Sure Fire son and again, carcass values, which are terrific: an EMA of 12.7, uh, IMF of 4.2, light birth weight of 2.4 and tremendous growth figures of over 60 at 200, over a hundred at 400.
So that gives you a bit of a rundown of the Sires.
We'll go through the Embryo Sires in our next session. So there you go hop onto the website, have a good look, download the BarnettAngus Beef Pregnancy Sale Catalogue, and shoot some questions at us.
